Even The Rocks Will Pray And Shout Out

There are actually verses in the Bible about mountains and hills singing to the glory of God! Isaiah 49:13 says, "Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people, And will have mercy on His afflicted."

Psalm 98:8 says, "Let the rivers clap their hands; Let the hills be joyful together before the Lord."

I have yet to see a mountain break forth into singing, but it is amazing to me that we serve such a glorious God that creation shouts of Him!

In Luke 19:37-40, Jesus talks about even the stones of the earth crying out. "Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: "'Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!' Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples." But He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out."

That's awesome. We serve a God who doesn't NEED us. Have you ever thought about that? God doesn't NEED you to worship Him. He's glorious enough with or without your praise, and yet you have the privilege and the ability to serve and worship Him! I'm always reminded of this when we sing the song "O My Redeemer." The chorus goes, "If I don't praise Your name, even the mountains will shout; If I don't praise Your name, even the rocks will cry out." If we don't give the glory, praise and honor to God, all of creation will cry out the wonder of God!

That's exciting!! Worship Him today!!
