'Oh, the days when I was young;
My face was smooth and tender.
I romped and played, rejoiced, and sung,
Those sweet years I remember.

Then the days turned into months;
And the months turned into years,
At thirty, a husband, and two children
to raise,
There was no time for childish fears.

I
raised my children up in church;
With the Good Book as my plan.
My little girl became a beautiful woman,
My little boy, a handsome man.

Before I knew it my children were grown;
And both were College bound,
One went to Harvard, and the other to
Yale,
They had moved to separate towns.

Now, my hair has turned to silver;
With laugh lines etched around my eyes;
I seem to have lost my youthful glow,
But still, it remains somewhere inside.

And as I watch my grandkids playing;
My youthful heart swells up with love,
Knowing what a gift they are; and Heaven
sent,
From Our loving Father up above.
