"....Stand ye in the ways,
and see, and ask for the old
paths, where is the good
way, and walk therein, and
ye shall find rest for your
souls."
Jeremiah 6: 16

There
are many ways of the Lord
but the only true way is the
path set forth in the
New Testament given by our
Lord. We are no longer bound
by the law or the many
rituals which were performed
in early Bible days.
We are to obey the commands
for obedience and holiness
within our hearts and do
those things He told us to
prosper in our Christian
walk. Only our Lord can give
us true peace and rest for
our souls as our minds are
stayed upon Him.

The
old paths do not mean God
cannot or will not do a new
thing in our midst.
God can do all things and we
cannot limit his power.
What he did in days of old,
He can still do today.
His will and ways will
always line up and agree
with his Word. Prayer
lights the pathway to peace
and throughout the ages has
always moved the hand of
God.

We
are told to "ask for the old
paths" as they are the good
way. The old paths are those
which are tried and true
given in God's Word. If we
ask, we shall receive that
our joy may be full.
Once we know the path, we
are to walk therein in order
to have rest for our souls.
When we come to Jesus, we
are told to give him our
heavy burdens in exchange
for his burden for souls.
His yoke that joins us to
Him and others is of love.
He tells us His yoke is easy
and His burden is light,
which means that in Him we
will find the rest desired
for our souls.

Just
as the Saints of old
followed the Lord on the
right path and were blessed,
we will also be blessed when
we ask for the old paths.
His Spirit will go before us
to lead and guide us on our
journey which will be with
joy along the way. In
spite of the problems and
trials of life, we can have
joy in our hearts if we have
Jesus in our lives.

Thanks to our Lord for
giving us all we need to
make it successfully through
this life and our assurance
of entrance into eternal
life. As we enter into his
presence, He will take us
past the outer court that we
might dwell under his shadow
in the secret place of our
Most High God.

Blessings in Christ,
