As I have been
growing up,
something called
time has left me.
I have ended up
getting too busy
to do my chores,
too busy to do my
homework, and
sometimes too busy
for growth
spiritually. As a
part of this ages
form of society, I
have become an
on-the-run type of
person. Most of
you have done the
same. Time has
practically
vanished.
There is nothing
wrong with being a
busy person, but
there is something
wrong when we
loose all of our
quiet time with
God. The problem
is, in today's
world this is very
easy to do. We
cram so many
things into one
day that we become
stressed, late for
most things, and
sometimes even
depressed. It
sometimes gets to
a point where we
don't even think
about having quiet
time with God to
grow.
So, Why should I
spend quiet time
with God?
We should have
quiet time with
God because it
draws us closer to
Him. My quiet time
with God lifts me
up when I am down,
and gives me the
will to keep on
pushing forward.
There is power
when you spend
time just between
God and yourself.
I don't know how
many times I have
been down in a
valley or just
stressed out about
school, and after
I spent my quiet
time with Him, I
am a refreshed and
ready to face the
tasks set before
me.
How in this world
can I find time to
spend with God?
The first step in
finding time to
spend with God, is
understanding how
busy you are. When
you understand how
busy you actually
are, you can plan
out your time and
decide what things
are the most
important. But
after you figure
out how busy you
are, sometimes it
can seem too
overwhelming.
Trust me,
sometimes it is
and that is why we
need to take
periodic breaks
from our work,
whatever it may
be. Having quiet
time with God can
be a simple as
spending your
break from work
with just you and
Him 5-10 minutes a
day.
Your quiet time
can be anything
from taking a walk
and seeing God's
beautiful
creation, to
spending time
talking to Him on
your drive to
work, or to just
taking a break
from your homework
and asking Him for
strength.
Don't get too busy
for God. Find your
quiet time. Time
is ticking away
and we all need to
be drawn closer to
him.
"Be careful that
you do not forget
the LORD your God,
failing to observe
his commands, his
laws and his
decrees that I am
giving you this
day. Otherwise,
when you eat and
are satisfied,
when you build
fine houses and
settle down, and
when your herds
and flocks grow
large and your
silver and gold
increase and all
you have is
multiplied, then
your heart will
become proud and
you will forget
the LORD your God,
who brought you
out of Egypt, out
of the land of
slavery." -

8:11-14
