He
sat at the bar sipping away
Trying to drown his troubles
that day
Little did he know what lay
ahead
And a little girl would soon
be dead
Later that evening he was
still there
But now he was drunk and had
no care
He forgot his troubles and
danced so free
He was stumbling and could
barely see
"One more for the road" he
shouted loud
As his voice was heard over
the crowd
"One more for the road for
this free man",
As he stumbled around, could
not stand
He left the club not feeling
a pain
His speech was slurred as he
loudly sang
He did not even see the
little girl
Until his truck stopped with
a bang
He could see from his cell
window
A hearse making a line
And cars following slowly
behind
As he tried to remember with
his foggy mind
One for the road he
remembers that day
Now for this he will sadly
pay
Now he just sits there with
only fear
Thinking of that life to
took so dear
Remember this story if you
must drink
One for the road could make
you not think
It could cost you all that
you have
Think of the life this girl
should have had

Please don't drink and
drive.
In memory of those who have
lost their lives by drunk
drivers.
